I heard someone won a contest . And since I donated a critique to the winner and you won, guess what that means

Lol yep. A critique. Now, I like your photography bits just a little more, but I can't properly critique it since I don't know even the basics of taking a good photograph. So I looked at your drawings, paintings, and whatnots and thought I'd critique that instead

And personally I like this rather a lot. It's nice, and it's simple, but it actually takes some technical skill to do some of the things in it I notice.

Personally I think the giraffe is the best part of the whole thing, which is good since it's the centerpiece . It's nice and clean composition and the outlining of it works very well really. And even anatomically correct .

I take issue mostly with the background though. Whereas the giraffe is nice and clean the background looks smudgy in comparison. There are long, thick broad strokes that make it appear that it was done in hindsight and as an afterhought to fill the canvas. Plus there sure is a lot of green . While I like how there are varied thick spots to give it some depth so it looks better then one continuous spot of green and trick our eyes into seeing depth, I think if you had spent some time with thinner strokes and maybe even alternating some spots to be darker would have given it a lot greater depth and complimented the giraffe well. Would have produced a bit more work though, and trust me, I hate drawing grass . Cramps my hand something fierce.

Anyway, hope that helps in pointing out some things and hope that the next watercolor you do will be better . Hope i helped ya and good luck!
