EDIT: It turns out Ignacio does not have FIV! They were mistaken on who his mother was and when they got him tested it came out negative, so he's a healthy little kitty!
This is Ignacio, a male Domestic Short Hair looking for a home. He is available at Animal FAIR (Foundation for Animals In Risk).
Ignacio has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, also known as Feline AIDS. This is not transferable to people, dogs, or other critters. Only felines have it and it can only be transmitted through fang bites, but Ignacio is such a sweetie he hasn't even thought about biting the foster cats he lives with! He's a special needs kitty that will need to stay indoors and have a special diet.

He is just about the cutest cat ever! My cat has FIV too, and so we can't have any other cats, but unlike a lot of cats with FIV, he still has an appetite and he is 17 now. BTW, FIV is not only transfered through fang bites but saliva, so if another cat drinks out of the same water bowl as Ignacio, they'll get FIV too. What an odd coincidence, no one ever knows what FIV is. Anyway, I hope he finds a good home that can afford the vet bills (our cat, Gremlin, is quite expensive to keep)
